Update - 22 April, 2020
Dear Parents and Caregivers
I hope you are enjoying the less structured days and are getting some R&R. Most importantly I hope you are staying healthy. Earlier this week it was announced by both the Premier and the Dept of Education that there will be a managed return to school. They also announced that both Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th April will be Staff Development days and no students will be in attendance on those days.
Peakhurst PS will operate in weeks 1 and 2 as they did at the end of last Term. The school will be open with 'families encouraged to keep their children at home wherever possible with no student turned away'. Students who attend school will be supervised and not in their regular classes. The work completed at school is identical to the pack provided for home learning. When we move into week 3 students will attend school at least one day per week. I will send home further information as the details are worked through.
All students will engage with the same unit of work, whether at school or at home.
The DEC has also advised that parents stay in their car when dropping students off and picking them up and so not enter the school grounds. They recommend that you maintain social distancing by not gathering outside school gates.
Work for the first 2 weeks of Term 2 can be picked up from 2pm on Monday 27 April from the school. (In playground A). It won't be available before that time as teaching staff will be working from home on that day and executive staff will be at school, running on line training with their teams. Work will be uploaded at 3pm onto Dojo or Google docs as has been done this term.
Here is the 'Managed Return to School' document for your information and will send more information as it becomes available.
