About our school

Peakhurst Public School offers diverse educational programs which challenge all students and promote excellent learning outcomes. Through a balanced, flexible and personalised curriculum the school provides opportunities which enable all students to achieve their full potential academically, socially, in the performing arts and in the sporting arena. 

Peakhurst Public School in known for our excellent student representatives in particular the Captains, Vice Captains and Prefects. There is an understanding that they are representing our school community at all times and their actions reflect this.

Our school caters for a diverse student population. There are 21 classes which include three extension classes for gifted and talented students as well as three classes for students with a moderate intellectual disability. Our school community is committed to the inclusion of students with disabilities in all aspects of school life. 

We are an innovative school community that values and promotes life-long learning. We have a dedicated, enthusiastic team of highly skilled teachers who pursue ongoing professional learning. This commitment ensures a strong academic focus with high expectations for teaching and learning. Our teachers show great care and commitment to our students and our school. Our school continues to change to meet the needs of our students. 

Priority areas include literacy and numeracy development, gifted and talented education, information technology, special education and learning support programs, student well-being, student leadership, performing arts, sport and environmental education. 

We are a welcoming and friendly school that values its successful partnership with parents and the wider community. Our school community works together to nurture a strong sense of school spirit and pride.
