Enrol
Our school welcomes enrolments throughout the school year. Enrol today or talk to us to find out how your child can join our school.
Ready to enrol?
We’re excited to welcome your family to our school community! To begin your journey, simply complete our online application form.
How to enrol
Every child has the right to access quality public education in their local community. If you live in our local intake area, start your journey to join our vibrant school community today. Follow these key steps:
-
Check your eligibility: use School Finder to confirm if your address is within our local intake area.
-
Apply online: complete our online enrolment application.
Identifying Documents
Parents/Carers planning to enrol at Peakhurst Public School will be required to produce documentation identifying the child. The best form of identification is the child’s Birth Certificate. If there is no birth certificate, photo identification could be substituted if a copy has been supported by a Justice of the Peace, for example a passport.
Proof of Address
Parents/Carers planning to enrol their child at Peakhurst Public School will be asked to complete the 100-point residential address check to confirm they live within the school’s designated intake area. This means parents will need to provide documents to verify the child’s current address. Residential address check has been provided by the DoE and can be accessed here.
Immunisation Register
Parents/Carers planning to enrol their child at Peakhurst Public School will be asked to provide a copy of the most current Australian Immunisation Register. Parents/Carers can access the immunisation history statement through their Medicare online account in myGov.

Other enrolment details for our school
Our school might have extra steps for enrolment. Our office staff are here to help, so contact us if you have any questions.
Enrolment Interview
Once the school has received all required documentation for enrolment, new enrolments will be asked to attend an interview with the principal or delegate. At this meeting the enrolment form will be reviewed and it is a good time to tell the principal of any special circumstances, allergies, health or medical conditions before your child starts at Peakhurst Public School. The school may complete a risk assessment depending on your child’s circumstances.
Commencement
At the meeting with the principal or delegate, you will be advised the date your child will be able to commence at Peakhurst Public School. This information will be forwarded through to school administration to complete the enrolment process.
A ‘Welcome to Peakhurst Public School’ Booklet will be provided to the family outlining school operations.
Uniform orders can be made through Claudines at Revesby. Orders can also be made online at https://www.claudineschoolwear.com.au/. Additionally there is a second hand uniform shop that is run by volunteers twice a term.
Administration will complete the enrolment process.
School contributions
In NSW public schools, all financial contributions are voluntary. Every student has full access to the curriculum, regardless of whether contributions are made.
For more information, see Voluntary school contributions on the Department of Education's website.
Out of area enrolments
Peakhurst Public School may accept enrolments from outside the designated area if places are available. Such applications are subject to department policies. There is an Out of Area Application Form for the parent/carer to complete. The application forms are taken to a placement panel, which convenes twice a term.
Out of Area applications will be considered by a placement panel according to the following criteria:
- siblings currently enrolled at the school
- safety and supervision of the students before and after school
- compassionate circumstances
If the demand for local enrolment exceeds the number of places available, out-of-area enrolments will not be available.
More information about the enrolment process can be located on the Department of Education website https://education.nsw.gov.au/public-schools/going-to-a-public-school/enrolment
Process:
-
Parents complete the out of area application online.
-
School administration staff may contact parents/carers directly for any clarification required around the application.
-
Out of area committee meets in week 4 and 9 each term to review the applications.
-
The school will confirm the outcome of the application with the parent/carer.
-
If a student is offered an out-of-area placement, the parent/carer must then complete a full enrolment application.
-
If a student application is declined the administration will inform the applicant
- Any appeal against the decision of the committee is to be made in writing to the Principal. The Principal will determine whether the criteria have been fairly applied and seek to resolve the matter. Where this is unsuccessful, the appeal can be sent in writing to the Director, Public Schools NSW to consider the appeal and make a determination.
